I absolutely adore Lana Del Rey's makeup, her skin is always so flawless and I love the effortless dark crease she often wears. I had seen a tutorial on the makeup in the first photo and thought I would have a go at it. The photo's below show my take on the makeup.

NYX Makeup Review

Sometime back in February I went to the beauty expo in London, it was amazing as there was so many beauty brands and a lot of things were at discount prices! One of the brands there was NYX, I was super happy they were there as the only way of buying them in the UK is ordering online and I hate ordering makeup when I can't see what it looks like up close. I got a cream blusher, cream eyeshadow and lipliner.

Cream blusher- This is my favourite product from the bunch, it blends flawlessly into the skin and makes your cheeks look really dewy. The colour of this product is 'Glow' and it is a medium pink, I think this colour would suit most skin tones so it's very versatile! £5.50

Jumbo eye pencil- This is a cream eyeshadow in the shade 'French fries'. These also blend really nicely into the skin but I would recommend using an eyeshadow base underneath or using these as a base themselves as they do crease really easily. It is a gorgeous bronze colour with gold shimmer running through it and looks lovely used as a base in a brown smokey eye. £4.50

Lip pencil- This is my least favourite of everything I got. It tugs at the lips when applied and the colour is this weird metallic nude and looks horrible on my lips! The only thing I have found it good for is using underneath a nude lipstick to help it stay longer. £4.00

Here I have lightly applied the products, I like to wear the blusher quite natural.

See how metallic it is!

Much better with a nude lipstick over the top!

China glaze: Life Is Rosy!

On my nails today I am wearing a polish by China Glaze in 'Life Is Rosy'. I really like this colour as it's not really bright but at the same time its not flat and has no life to it (does a nail polish even have a life? haha). It is a gorgeous simple pink and I think it looks really elegant on the nails, it's a colour I've been using a lot lately! I used a base coat from china glaze and my favourite top coat from sally hanson called insta dry, this stuff is seriously so good my nails last for ages without chipping when I use this! These photos were taken by my talented sister, they are so clear and crisp. She has her own blog and you should definitely check it out here and she also has her own facebook page which you can find here.

What i'm wearing on my face! #1

So for the past week I have been glued to the sofa battling my death, okay maybe not that extreme but I have been pretty ill. Today I am feeling a lot better and started playing around with my makeup a little bit. As summer is coming up (hardly with this awful weather in the UK!) I fancied doing a bronze eye.

These are just a few of the bits I used on my face today-
NYX cream blush- Glow
Mua eyeshadow palette- Undresssed
No7 stay perfect foundation- Calicio
Avon lipstick- Shade has rubbed off but its a lovely soft pink with gold shimmer running through it.

February Favourites 2013

These are a few of my favourite things...

Today I have a post about six products I have been loving over February.

I have been wearing the Bourjois healthy mix foundation nearly every day this month. I love it! I wont go on about as I have already done a blog post about it here

I love Natural Collection's lipstick and have been loving the shade 'Cranberry' this month. Its a gorgeous pink with red undertones. The thing I love with this colour is that you can sheer it out to an everyday shade or build it up for maximum effect. It's really creamy and very pigmented in just one stroke.
Another product from Natural Collection is their blusher in the shade 'Peach Melba' I have been wearing this colour so often this month! It is the perfect peachy pink colour and goes well with my skin tone. This colour goes nicely with most eye looks or lipsticks i wear so that is a big win win! It is nicely pigmented, it doesn't give the greatest pay off but can be built up, it's a nice natural everyday shade. I have been wearing Mac's 'Charcoal Brown' eyeshadow so much, I have done a blog post about it here. The gel eyeliner photographed above is by Maybelline. This has to be one of the greatest finds of the month, I was never interested in gel eyeliner but girls on youtube always made it look so easy to apply! So while I was in boots I picked one up and have been loving it ever since! It is so creamy and gives a really precise line.

Isn't the packaging the cutest? I love the pink bow on the top (It's the little things in life!). My boyfriend brought me Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy for our anniversary in January and I have only recently started using it on a regular basis. This has been my go to perfume this month. It has a sweet yet still mature scent, good description huh? On the perfumeshop website it says it has vanilla notes in it which I can just about smell, it definitely is a floral perfume but not so much it gives you a headache! I can't wait until summer as I know I will get so much use out of it! If you have the chance to smell this I would definitely recommend you do, As it's a sweeter perfume it makes me feel girly! haha.

Mac Charcoal brown eyeshadow review

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post today to tell you all about an eyeshadow I have been using religiously over the past few weeks. So I went to colchester a few weeks go as I had heard that a department store carries mac, the area I live in doesn't actually have a mac store and colchester isn't too far away so I was very excited! I really wanted to get an eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows with and the lady who worked there suggested espresso, I tried this on and it was far too dark so she suggested 'Charcoal brown' which I think is a really good match.

Now I had heard some mixed reviews with mac matte eyeshadows, some people thought they were great where as others thought they were a little too hard to work with. From the photo above you can see that is has good pigmentation and I only had to swipe my finger across the eyehadow twice to get the colour payoff. So I have got on really well with this eyeshadow and it has become part of my everyday makeup routine. It's not only great for eyeshadow but really good for using in the crease to blend out eyeshadow (I do love a multi-use product!)

I would highly recommend this eyeshadow and definitely want to have a look at there other colours!
